Health problems are not always caused by one individual factor, and this is especially true of any problems connected with your gut. Traditional medicine may often focus on one particular aspect of your health, but it makes more sense to look at the body from a holistic point of view, so that all issues, symptoms and causes may be explored.
One of the easiest ways to find out what is going on with your gut is to have some very specific lab testing done. Of course, you can use a home testing kit, but these prove to be expensive, they may be inconclusive, and don’t provide the aftercare you might need to resolve any real digestive issues.
Blood tests are probably the best course of action for detection.
There are two common tests which should help to provide the answers to what is upsetting your gut. You can choose from a Lab Permeability Test which can identify leaky gut syndrome and similar conditions. I like to often combine the previous mentioned test with Antibody Food Allergy Blood Tests. These two can accurately pinpoint food sensitivities which are often the main culprit for creating problems in the gastrointestinal tract.
Lab Permeability Test
These blood tests are used to identify if certain serums such as Zonulin, Occludin and also others like Actomyosin antibodies and Lipopolysaccharides are present in the blood stream. The presence of which may indicate that the lining of the gut has been damaged which is a common cause of conditions like Leaky Gut Syndrome.
Allergy Testing
The main type of blood tests used to detect food allergies is called RAST and it tests for the presence of antibodies in your blood. Allergy-specific antibodies occurring in your blood stream will usually determine that a food allergy is present and may be upsetting the natural balance of your gastrointestinal system, although you may require further testing to confirm.
